Terms of Service
DRAFT, not yet reviewed by a lawyer. These words describe how TOUSE is meant to work. They are not final terms and should not be relied on until they have been reviewed and this notice is removed.
What TOUSE is
TOUSE is a private operations platform for fraternity chapters. It stores a chapter's own records (members, events, dues, standards, new member education, risk and incident records, communications and documents) and helps its officers keep track of them.
What TOUSE is not
TOUSE stores records. It is not a compliance authority, a legal advisor, an insurer or a substitute for the policies of a chapter's national organization, university or insurer. A chapter and its members remain responsible for following those rules and the law. A risk plan that TOUSE lets an officer approve is not a guarantee that an event is safe or permitted.
Who may use it
Access is by invitation from a chapter. The chapter's president decides who is a member and what each person may see. People under 18 may be members of some chapters; terms for them are to be settled by counsel before any chapter with such members begins.
A chapter's data is its own
What a chapter puts in TOUSE belongs to the chapter. Its president can export it, and it can ask for people to be erased or the chapter to be deleted, in the way described in the Privacy Policy. Some records must be kept for a retention period (seven years by default) and are deleted only as that policy allows.
Acceptable use
Use TOUSE for the chapter's own business. Don't put in anything you have no right to hold, don't try to reach another chapter's records, and don't try to identify the sender of an anonymous report or vote.
Availability and changes
TOUSE is provided as it is, without a promise that it will always be available or free of mistakes. [To be completed by counsel: warranties, liability, fees, governing law, how the terms change, and the legal name and contact address of the operator.]
